Maintenance off moss walls & moss art
This is a question we get almost every day. Logical too, because a moss wall is made from 100% natural moss.
We are standard that plants and moss need moisture to grow, but moss works slightly differently.
Why does a moss wall not require any maintenance?
Mosses do not have roots like normal plants, but small cell threads called rhizoids.
They strengthen themselves on substrates, allowing them to grow in places where other plants never survive.
The moss we use for our moss walls is carefully harvested by hand in Scandinavia.
The government designates specific places where harvesting is allowed, and this is always done with respect for nature. After harvesting, the moss is dried and immersed in a mixture of natural salts, dyes and liquids.
This ensures that the moss remains beautiful and supple.
At first it may shed some, but this is completely normal due to the natural treatment it undergoes.
What makes moss so unique?
Moss is a natural product, and just like nature itself, no two pieces are the same.
Even when harvested from the same location, color and texture may vary.
This is due to different weather conditions, such as rain, sun, drought, wind, snow or ice.
All these factors ensure that every moss wall from moscreatie has a unique, authentic appearance.
This natural character makes it so special.
"How do I maintain a moss wall?"
Not! Or rather: never! A moss wall does not need water, light or heat. In fact, you should never wet it or spray it with food. The only thing you don't have to do is enjoy it.
What should you pay attention to with a moss wall?
Do not place a moss wall in a drafty place or in remote places directly next to heat or cold sources such as air conditioners.
A window that is often open near the moss wall is also not a good place.
Because moss requires no maintenance, it is ideal for companies.
No annoying maintenance costs, as with real plants or plant walls, and employees only have to enjoy it. Moss is perfect for dark spaces where plants cannot possibly survive.

A final tip: avoid touching your moss wall Moss walls are also called "cuddle walls", but we recommend not touching them to replace them.
Our hands contain acids that can damage the moss, and that would be a shame.
If you want to touch it, preferably do so with the back of your hand.
